Meet Scarlett
Hello! I am Scarlett Ellender. I am a Louisiana native who recently earned my Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Collaborative Piano from Louisiana State University.
I have over five years of teaching experience working with students of all ages and levels that have performed in Baton Rouge festivals and studio recitals.
In addition to teaching, I also maintain an active career as a collaborative pianist and church musician.

Lessons
I personalize my lessons to support each student’s unique musical journey and personal goals. I always strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable progressing at their own pace. I aim to build student confidence through steady growth and the celebration of both small and large successes.
My lessons often emphasize discussions surrounding goal-oriented practice strategies to encourage independent practice at the piano. Inspired by my own piano learning journey, I also advocate for utilizing healthy techniques and practice habits to prevent tension and injury while playing.
I believe that participation in performances, festivals, and competitions allow students to develop confidence, artistry, and a well-rounded musical education.
